Advanced Urology Centers of New York (AUCNY), a Division of Integrated Medical Professionals was formed by community urologists committed to providing the highest level of medical service available. The doctors of AUCNY continue to practice in the neighborhoods they have been serving for years while affording them access to technology and services that are just not available to most medical groups. All AUCNY member physicians are board certified in their specialty and many have additional fellowship training as well. The physicians are on staff at the leading hospitals in the New York metropolitan area, are active in clinical and academic research, participate in postgraduate medical education and lecture nationally and internationally on cutting edge breakthroughs in medicine.

  • Alexander Epelbaum, MD, FACS

    Urologist

    Alexander Epelbaum, MD received his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from New York University. He went on to earn his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. He completed his surgical internship and urology residency at SUNY Downstate, where he also served as Chief Resident. As a part of his training he completed an Acting Fellowship in Urologic Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Epelbaum has written articles in peer review journals, and presented his research at the American Urological Association meeting, American Society of Reproductive Medicine meeting, The New York Academy of Medicine, and SUNY Downstate Annual Research Day. As is a recipient of many honors, including awards of dedication and appreciation from the Department of Veteran Affairs and Kings County Hospital Center, he has been recognized for outstanding clinical performance by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Institute. Dr. Epelbaum is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is an active member of the American Urological Association. He also holds the position of President of the Medical Staff at St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center. Dr. Epelbaum practices adult and pediatric urology. Special interests include minimally invasive surgery, female incontinence and vaginal reconstruction, kidney stone disease, laparoscopic surgery, and urologic malignancies. He is fluent in Russian.

  • Thomas G. Harrington, MD, FACS

    Urologist

    Thomas Gregory Harrington, MD, a Long Island native, graduated from St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Binghamton University. He received a Doctorate in Medicine from New York Medical College and went on to complete an internship in General Surgery at S.U.N.Y. at Buffalo. Following a second year of General Surgery at S.U.N.Y. at Stony Brook, he completed his Urology residency at Stony Brook in 1997, during which time he published articles on the subjects of male infertility and urologic trauma. Dr. Harrington is the Chairman of Urology at St Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown and has served as Director of the Department of Surgery and also as President of the Medical Staff. He is also on the attending staff at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital and St. Charles Hospital and Rehabilitation Center in Port Jefferson, as well as Huntington Hospital. Dr. Harrington is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and practices Adult and Pediatric Urology in Smithtown.

  • Howard S. Lynn, MD

    Urologist

    Dr. Lynn is a Board Certified Urologist practicing in Western Suffolk for the past 20 years. He received his BS and MD degrees from the Union College/Albany Medical College Six Year Biomedical Program in 1984. He was trained at North Shore University Hospital as a General Surgical Intern and Montefiore Medical Center as a surgical resident from 1984-1986. He completed his Urological training at Montefiore/Albert Einstein Medical Center. He served as Chief Resident from 1989-1990. Dr. Lynn practices general urology but has special interest in early detection and treatment of genital urinary tumors and the treatment of benign prostatic hypertrophy and urinary stone disease. He is a member of the American Urological Association and has privileges at St. Catherine’s Hospital, Mather Hospital, and St. Charles Hospital.
